Late ‘70’s (I think) John Deere bucket and backhoe heavy equipment. Stopped running last year, so will have to be trailered. Weighs around 3 ton. Tires fair and aired up. 3 cylinder diesel.
This is a large and heavy piece of equipment (Junk value probably about what it is priced at);it is probably worth twice that if it was running).
It is offered for $3,000., OBO, “as is where is”, with no warranty. In my opinion, it would make a good personal use farm machine. Old but serviceable, once it is up and running. Lights and what have you are not operable, and would require significant work and rewiring. It is what it is and is well priced. I include a manual and flash drive for the model, which is a JD 300B.
Has compression. It started and ran, then one day when I shut it down it would not start the next day. I drained the fuel and added new, but would it still would not start. Ignition switch probably needs reworked/rewired. I was starting it by jumping across the hot post to the solenoid to start it. It may just be the fuel line or the fuel pump-I just don’t know. I lightly used it for years on the “farm” for light work before it failed to start.
The hydraulics worked fine, with expected leakage, but has a lot of power and smooth operation.
Forward and reverse, hand throttle, buckets, etc., all worked, so I wouldn’t think that would have changed. I bought pallet loader forks that manually attach to the front loader “bucket”; (the “back hoe”) bucket is larger capacity, & Is located on the rear of the machine.
I will give the buyer ample time to move it (would like it moved by June 1, 2026). Terms of payment is Cash in hand, no checks. Will provide an “as is” bill of sale upon payment.
This is a large, long and heavy piece of equipment, so buyer must be prepared to winch it onto a trailer and haul it, so do not buy this if you cannot haul it. Again, “as is where is” and once the money and bill of sale change hands, the deal is done. If not moved in a timely fashion, I will charge $20 a day storage, so please be prepared to move it once bought.
I will be happy to answer questions, but I think I have been fairly detailed in my description.
It is located with easy access on a rural property between Rantoul and Osawatomie, south of Kansas City and East of Wichita.
