CHINA by Lena E. Johnston, Illustrated by Norman Hardy, Published London by Adam and Charles Black (1909), good condition with some wear on the covers, interior very good. Book is 7" tall, 88 pages. Written for children primarily, it shows Chinese child-life and the matters of every-day life at an earlier time. Short accounts of Confucius, Chang Chi-Tung, others. Part of the Peeps At Many Lands series.
Frontespiece illustration page has small tear lower right corner. This was a library copy though seems not to have had much use. Some light pencil marks in text as shown in representative photos. Illustrations all very good with bright colors. No mildew or water damage (what may appear water stain in a few photos is shadow as I tried to hold book open). Remnant of library card holder inside rear cover.
Binding has been repaired, apparently many years ago as shown.
